New Book Alert! Prayer to Saint Michael is Available Now!!!
Long story short: IT’S FINISHED!!!! My newest book is out!
HOORAY!
It’s a picture book with awesome classic religious artwork featuring Saint Michael, alongside the Saint Michael prayer.
Right now, you can buy it on Amazon in hardback ($12.95) or in paperback ($5.95). I also have some copies that I am itching to sell, so I’ll probably set up shop within a week or two… 🙂 More news on that later!
Here’s a picture of me with the book!

It’s a simple book… honestly, I made it with bedtime reading for the kids in mind. 🙂
How It All Started
My kids like to peek over my shoulder when I am on the computer. So! As you can imagine, they definitely get to see a lot of religious art.
Normally, they’ll peek at what I am looking at, decide that what I am doing is very boring, and then go off to play. But sometimes the art will prompt some sort of reaction and we’ll talk about the art together.
And that is exactly what happened when my oldest daughter, then only four years old, saw me working on my blog, Destroying Satan! She crawled on my lap, pointed to the picture of Saint Michael defeating Satan, and said, “Scary!”
Which is true… isn’t this a scary picture???

“What’s scary?” I asked.
She pointed to Satan.
“Yes, he is scary,” I said. “He’s a bad guy. See how many faces are on him? He is really scary. But we don’t need to worry about him! See? There’s Saint Michael. He’s the good guy. That’s why he’s fighting Satan. And that’s why we call on Saint Michael when we get scared.”
Which she knew of course! After all, we had this conversation several times before this conversation took place. Whenever she had nightmares, I would calm her down by praying with her the Prayer of Saint Michael.
But, she was at that age in which she wanted that extra reminder that the scariest things she could see
And then, she asked the question:
“Can you make me a book with him in it?”
In Which I Start a Family Business
I admit it: I love making my kids things.
I started making the Rosary book series when I found out that my oldest daughter, then only two years old, would sit calmly on my lap and look at picture books for hours… and yet fight me tooth and nail when I tried to pray a Rosary with her.
Making the Rosary books, in which EVERY prayer is illustrated, basically stopped that problem… yay!
Making a book with the Saint Michael’s prayer in it? It would be comparatively easy compared to the huge project of the Rosary books! After all, that would mean it would be a
But! This time, I had juuuuust finished the Rosary books, and I was admittedly tired of everything related to bookmaking.
“If you want me to make this book, you’re going to have to help me,” I warned her.
She smiled at me. “Okay!”
And so, it became our special project together. I would show her the artworks that I had found and she would pick her favorites. Then, she would watch me work and give her input on things.
It was… surprisingly fun, actually.
And so, eventually, we did it! We made it!
IT’S DONE!!!!
What Does It Look Like?
Good question!
Here’s the cover!

And what is inside? WELL. Let’s open it up and show you, shall we? 🙂 (And by we, I mean my 3yo son and I… so, the little hand that you see on the pictures is his because he totally wanted to help!)
It’s a rather short book, so I hope you don’t mind me posting it in its glorious entirety! Plus, since it is something that you might want to get a child, you might want to see the pictures, just in case they’re a little bit too scary for the kid.
Of course, my favorite part of the book is the dedication. 🙂

And that’s not all! There is a page that tells you the art information about all these paintings, just in case you’re interested in that sort of stuff. And! A page that I wrote which has information about Saint Michael.
So, basically, it’s an awesome book.
Yes It IS Awesome!!! Where Can I Buy It????
I KNOW. ISN’T IT AWESOME???
At the moment, you can get it at Amazon! It’s available in hardback ($12.95) or in paperback ($5.95).
It is best in hardcover for a number of reasons… first of all, because the printing of the hardcover pages is AMAZING and stunningly beautiful. (No, really… it is so gorgeous.) Second of all, this is primarily for children who are renowned for destroying things, and let’s face it: hardback books last a lot longer than their paperback counterparts. Here is the hardback link again, just in case you want to click it!
But! It’s also available in paperback as well! The printing quality is admittedly not as fantastic as the hardback, BUT. It is still lovely and it is considerably cheaper at $5.95. Again, here’s a link for the paperback version!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it! 🙂 May God bless!
